Course Content
Course Aim
To train a Flight Instructor to teach the Multi-Engine Piston (Land) Class Rating.
Pre-entry Requirements
Hold a current and valid licence, which contains a Flight Instructor Rating.
Have a minimum of 500 hours flight time as pilot of aeroplanes. Have flown at least 30 hours PIC on multi-engine piston aircraft.
This course is based on the following documents:
(a) CAA document CAP601
(b) Multi Engine Piston Aeroplane Class Rating Training Syllabus
(c) PAFT Multi Engine Piston Class Rating Training Manual
Theoretical Knowledge Training
10 hours, consisting of the following three elements:
(a) Theoretical Subjects -
(b) The pre-flight Briefings -
(c) The remaining 3 hours will consist of the FI student preparing presentations, practicing board briefings, and relevant activities at the discretion of the instructor.
On Course Completion
The student will be issued with a Course Completion Certificate, after which an Assessment of Competence test will be conducted by a Flight Instructor Examiner. The assessment will include Theoretical Knowledge and Flight Instruction.
